MINDBLOWING
For many Florida homeowners, the roof has become one of the most
misunderstood, and highest-stakes, parts of their property. Too often, roofing
decisions are made under pressure from extreme weather, insurance demands, or
fear, rather than clear information. This magazine exists to change that.
Roof Saver Magazine was created to educate homeowners and provide practical
tools that support informed, strategic roofing decisions. In Florida’s climate,
understanding your roof is no longer optional, it is essential.
Recent changes in Florida law have reshaped how roofs are evaluated, insured, and
replaced. Age alone no longer tells the full story, yet many homeowners are still being
guided as if it does. Today, inspections, insurance underwriting, and compliance play
a defining role in roofing decisions.
That is why tools like the Shingle Death Score™ matter.
A roof’s condition, performance, and remaining functional life are far more
meaningful than age alone. This score helps homeowners understand where their
roof truly stands, before replacement becomes the default recommendation.
Florida’s extreme weather does accelerate wear, but it does not automatically mean a
roof must be replaced. Within the industry, it is widely acknowledged that many
roofs are replaced prematurely, often without a condition-based evaluation.
This publication is designed to help homeowners move from reaction to strategy.
Protecting a property is not about a single service. It is about understanding the
entire system that affects long-term performance, insurability, and value.
At Roof Saver FL, our role is to help homeowners make informed decisions before
committing to one of the largest expenses they will face.
This magazine is your starting point.

ARE YOU READY TO
SAVE THOUSANDS?
Florida's unique weather punishes roofs like nowhere else. Hurricanes, torrential
rain, intense UV rays, and high humidity rapidly degrade materials, compromising
your home's safety and your wallet.
Is Your Roof Truly Protected
Against Florida's Elements?
All About Roofs in
Florida
The Harsh Reality of Roofs in Florida:
Replacement Frequency: Due to climatic
stress, traditional roofs in Florida have a
significantly shorter lifespan. While roofs
elsewhere may last 20-25 years, a major
insurance carrier report found that 71.5% of
all roof replacements in Florida were on
homes 15 years or older, with many
needing attention much sooner.
Source: Florida Office of Insurance Regulation
(OIR) Roofing Data Call.
Average Replacement Cost: Replacing a
standard asphalt shingle roof (for an average 2,000 sq. ft. home) typically ranges
from $20,000 to $40,000+, a cost that skyrockets after a major storm due to high
demand and material shortages.
Source: Forbes Home Roof Replacement Cost Guide.
The Silent Damage: The Insurance Information Institute (III) states that wind and
hail damage account for a massive portion of home insurance claims. Most leaks
start with minor, invisible damage that high winds and rain exploit, leading to
catastrophic structural damage, mold, and interior ruin.

A Smarter Way to Preserve Your Roof!
Modern roofing preservation goes beyond cleaning or short-term fixes. Advances in
material science now reinforce roofing surfaces at a microscopic level, helping roofs last
longer under Florida’s demanding climate.
UV Resistance = Helps shield shingles from prolonged sun exposure that
accelerates aging and cracking.
Extended Roof Lifespan = Slows the natural deterioration process, helping roofs last
longer before replacement becomes necessary.
Granule Retention = Reinforces the bond between asphalt and granules, reducing
premature granule loss.
Moisture & Water Repellency = Creates a hydrophobic surface that limits water
absorption without trapping moisture.
Algae, Mold & Stain Resistance = Reduces organic growth that compromises
appearance and long-term roof performance.

For years, Florida homeowners were told a simple rule: if your roof is old, it must be
replaced. That rule no longer applies.
Florida law has changed, and how roofs are evaluated, insured, and approved today
is very different from just a few years ago. Unfortunately, many homeowners are
still making decisions based on outdated assumptions, often at a high financial
cost.
Does Roof Age Automatically Cause Insurance Cancellation?
No. Florida law protects homeowners from being denied or non-renewed solely
because of roof age.
Florida Statute 627.7011 restricts insurers from refusing to issue or renew solely
due to roof age when an authorized inspection indicates at least 5 years of
remaining useful life.
Roofs 15 years or older may be evaluated through a professional inspection
If a roof shows remaining useful life, age alone should not determine coverage
The Florida “15-Year Roof Rule” — What the Law Actually Says
Key Legal Protection for Homeowners
Florida law prohibits insurance companies from denying coverage or forcing roof
replacement solely based on roof age.
Under Florida law:
Roofs under 15 years old cannot be denied or non-renewed based on age alone
Roofs 15 years or older may be evaluated only through a professional inspection
If an inspection shows remaining useful life, the insurer cannot require
replacement solely due to age
Roof age alone is not a legal reason for forced replacement. Condition and
documentation matter.

Insurance Discounts & Credits — What Is Legally Supported
Florida law requires insurers to offer premium discounts for verified wind
mitigation and roof protection features.
These credits may apply when properly documented:
Secondary Water Resistance (SWR)
Impact-resistant roof coverings
Wind mitigation features verified via official inspection
Important:
Credits are not automatic. They require:
Proper documentation
Licensed inspection
Submission to the carrier
Florida State Law (The Legal Mandate)
Florida Statute § 627.711: This is the primary law that requires all residential
property insurance companies in Florida to provide premium discounts for wind
mitigation features.
Florida Statute § 627.0629: This law specifically mandates that insurance
companies offer "savings to consumers who install or implement windstorm
damage mitigation techniques."
Average Annual Savings: According to Florida’s Division of Emergency
Management and independent insurance calculators, the average annual savings
for Florida homeowners after a wind mitigation inspection ranges from $100 to
$600, with some reporting total policy discounts of 30% to 40%.

WHY MOST ROOF TREATMENTS FALL SHORT
Over the past decade, the roofing industry has introduced a wide range of products
promising to “restore,” “seal,” or “extend” roof life. From oil-based rejuvenators to
surface sealers and elastomeric coatings, these solutions often sound similar, but
they do not work the same.
Understanding how these products interact with roofing materials is key to
understanding why results vary so dramatically.
THE CORE LIMITATION OF TRADITIONAL ROOF TREATMENTS
Most roof treatments on the market today, including rejuvenators and surface sealers,
work at the surface level. They rely on oils, polymers, or films designed to temporarily
soften, coat, or seal the exterior of the shingle or concrete.
While these approaches may improve appearance or short-term flexibility, they come
with structural limitations:
They do not bond at the molecular level
They rely on surface adhesion, not material integration
Their performance is highly dependent on weather, UV exposure, and surface
wear
Over time, many evaporate, oxidize, wash away, or degrade
This is why many homeowners see early visual improvement, followed by declining
performance within a few years.
A DIFFERENT CATEGORY OF TECHNOLOGY
Advanced nanotechnology-based treatments take a fundamentally different
approach. Instead of coating the surface, they are engineered to penetrate into the
material itself, reinforcing performance from within. By interacting at a microscopic
level, these solutions focus on material strength, moisture behavior, and long-term
stability, rather than short-term cosmetic change.
This difference in approach explains why performance outcomes, such as UV
resistance, moisture repellency, granule retention, and durability vary so significantly
when compared to traditional products.
WHY TRADITIONAL SOLUTIONS FAIL

PROTECTION
PARTNER
WHY TRADITIONAL SOLUTIONS FAIL
Many homeowners compare products by brand name. The more important
comparison is category. Surface coatings, oil-based rejuvenators, and film-forming
sealers all share the same limitation: they work on top of the roof.
Material-integrating technologies work within the roof.
That distinction determines:
how long results last,
how the roof behaves under Florida’s climate, and
whether performance improvements are temporary or structural.
GoNano conducted an independent scientific study in Canada with the CNETE on both
asphalt shingles and SBS membranes. Conclusions: with one treatment, GoNano adds up
tp 15 years of additional lifespan to an asphalt shingle roof, or an SBS membrane roof,
depending on its age.
GoNano vs traditional sealants
THE GONANO ADVANTAGE:
PIONEERING NANOTECHNOLOGY
GoNano vs traditional sealants
GoNano's technology doesn’t just add a protective layer like traditional sealants, nor does
it simply replace lost oil; it modifies and enhances the molecular structure of asphalt
shingles permanently.
Before
During
After
Florida homeowners hear the same message over and over: “If the roof is older, it
must be replaced.” The table below challenges that assumption with something
most roofing conversations lack code-referenced performance requirements and
standardized test methods.
GoNano NuRoof Revive™ & NuRoof Fortify™ are presented against International
Building Code (IBC) new shingle roof performance requirements, using recognized
standards such as UL 2218 and multiple ASTM test methods. In this comparison, the
GoNano-treated system (installed on a 15-year-old roof) meets or exceeds key
performance categories, including impact resistance, high-wind resistance, and
multiple moisture-related performance measures, when compared to typical
shingles at the time of installation.
What matters for homeowners is not the test code numbers, it’s the outcome: the
table shows performance moving from “pass” to “exceed” in categories that directly
affect Florida roofs, including wind-driven weather stress, moisture behavior, and
organic growth conditions. The document also explains that the application is a
spray-on treatment designed to penetrate into the aged shingle, creating an
embedded protection layer and restoring performance characteristics to equal or
better than original, in some cases exceeding original requirements.

A Smarter Model for Property Longevity in Florida
Florida doesn’t wear down homes slowly, it accelerates deterioration. UV exposure,
humidity, organic growth, wind events, and surface saturation can reduce roof and
exterior performance long before most homeowners realize it. That is why Roof Saver
is built around a system, not a one-time service.
Our approach helps homeowners make condition-based decisions, extend the useful
life of key exterior assets, and reduce the cycle of “wait, react, replace.” Instead of
treating symptoms, the Roof Saver System focuses on measurable condition,
strategic refurbishment, and long-term performance.

What’s Covered: Strong, Long-Lasting Protection. Your GoNano treatment is warranted
against two main types of failure:
Roof Products (Shingle Saver, Revive & Bio-Boost):
The warranty offered by GoNano is a "full money-back" limited warranty that lasts
for a period of 5, 10, or 15 years, depending on the specific product and the age of
the roof it is applied to.
The core promise is that if the product fails to perform as stated and all conditions
are met, GoNano will refund the cost of the treatment.
The warranty covers the product's performance in protecting asphalt shingle roofs.
It specifically guarantees against three types of failure during the warranty period:
Peeling, Curling, or Waving: 30% or more of the treated surface exhibits these
defects.
Water Leaks: The treated roof suffers a leak that penetrates through the treated
shingles.
Insurance Requirement: The building owner's property insurer requires the roof
to be replaced due to a failure of the GoNano treatment.
What is NOT Covered?
Will not fix existing structural problems. It "will not inhibit water penetration
through unsound or cracked surfaces with defective flashing, caulking or structural
waterproofing."
Is not a substitute for necessary roof repairs before application.
Concrete & Wood Products:
Delamination: Product peeling away from a properly prepared surface.
